My content creation story.

From breaking several major stories to interviewing many legends of sport, my career in writing and as an editor has spanned many different roles and responsibilities. That includes running a newsroom, and managing four full-time writers and a team of 15 freelancers where we created content that included breaking news, thought leadership pieces, as well as content optimized for search engines and affiliate marketing campaigns.

Experience

As a journalist, my articles have been published in The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Illustrated, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Sports Business Journal, and, of course, World Soccer Talk.

As a leading expert on several different subject matters, I’ve been interviewed and featured in The New York Times, Bloomberg, Sports Illustrated, Forbes Magazine, Consumer Reports, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and New York Magazine.

While I continue to write, the majority of my experience in content has been as a senior editor and content marketing specialist, overseeing teams to create content that meets or exceeds revenue targets.

At World Soccer Talk, that included more than 12 million pageviews per year during 2022 after optimizing content around the World Cup 2022. In revenue, I helped World Soccer Talk increase its revenue by 900% by adapting the business model to focus on affiliate marketing, as well as more traditional methods such as paid advertising.

Away from the written word, I launched the first-ever soccer vlog in 2006 (in what has now become a multi-million-dollar industry). That same year, I also launched the World Soccer Talk Podcast, which is the longest-running soccer podcast worldwide.

As well as an editor, writer, technologist, and marketing guru, I’ve made appearances on television and radio to promote different brands as well as discussing major news stories. Those appearances include being on air at NPR, BBC Radio, BBC World, TalkSport Radio, CBC, and beIN SPORTS, among others.
